Some of you may have heard but currently there’s a cyclone called Hagupit-14 (locally known as Ruby), heading towards the Philippines. Its been predicted to make landfall this weekend, with wind speeds of over 255 kph (160 mph). News articles are reporting the possibility of more than 30 million people being impacted by this cyclone, including some of the areas RescueNet helped last year.
The mayor of the town Tanauan, where RescueNet responded last year has told us people are already starting to panic and cry in anticipation of the cyclone.
Currently RescueNet is looking at the possibility of responding if the cyclone hits, but we ask that you would stand alongside us in prayer and financial sponsorship. We are still praying this cyclone will move further north and disperse somewhere in the ocean rather than hitting the Philippines.
